Terms of Service
Effective July 29, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Seat Watcher. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. About Seat Watcher
Seat Watcher is an independent, unofficial, non-commercial service that helps users check publicly available movie, showtime, ticket-release, and seat-availability information. Seat Watcher is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by Cineplex Entertainment LP. Cineplex and its related names, marks, and content belong to their respective owners.
2. Eligibility and permitted use
You may use Seat Watcher only for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. If you are not legally capable of entering into these Terms, you may use the service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
You must not:
- use the service in a manner that violates applicable law, these Terms, or a third party’s terms or rights;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, bypass, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure;
- use automated tools to scrape, reproduce, resell, or commercially exploit the service or third-party content; or
- misrepresent your relationship with Seat Watcher or use the service to engage in fraudulent or harmful activity.
3. Availability information and alerts
Seat Watcher reports information received from third-party systems. Information may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or changed without notice. A displayed match or alert does not reserve a seat, hold a ticket, establish a price, or guarantee that a ticket or seat will remain available.
Browser-based checks may stop when the application is closed, suspended, placed in the background, or when a device is locked. You remain responsible for confirming all details directly with Cineplex before making a purchase.
4. Third-party services
Seat Watcher may link to Cineplex and sharing services such as X, Facebook, or applications available through your device’s share menu. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Seat Watcher does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, transactions, products, or services.
Your purchase or attempted purchase from Cineplex is solely between you and Cineplex. Seat Watcher does not sell tickets, accept payment, receive purchase confirmation, or provide refunds.
5. Intellectual property
Subject to these Terms, the Seat Watcher operator grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes. No ownership rights are transferred to you. This licence does not grant permission to copy or reuse Cineplex content or trademarks.
6. Service changes and termination
The service may be modified, suspended, limited, or discontinued at any time without notice. Access may be restricted or terminated where reasonably necessary to protect the service, its users, third parties, or legal rights.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Seat Watcher is provided “as is” and “as available,” without representations, warranties, or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or collateral, including warranties or conditions of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantable quality, title, or non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, condition, remedy, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Seat Watcher operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or the cost of substitute services arising from or related to the service, third-party systems, missed alerts, inaccurate information, or ticket transactions.
Where liability cannot be excluded, the operator’s total aggregate liability arising from or related to Seat Watcher will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to use Seat Watcher during the preceding twelve months and CAD $10. Seat Watcher is currently offered without charge.
9. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how Seat Watcher handles information. It forms part of these Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable laws of the Canadian province or territory in which the Seat Watcher operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply to you remain unaffected.
11. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published. Your continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
12. General provisions
These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and the operator concerning Seat Watcher. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without the operator’s consent. Headings are provided for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
