Privacy Policy

1. Scope and accountability

This Policy applies to the Seat Watcher website, installable web application, and related browser helpers. The individual operator of Seat Watcher is responsible for the practices described here and may be contacted using the information in section 12.

2. Information stored on your device

Seat Watcher stores the following information in your browser:

• saved searches, ticket alerts, seat preferences, match status, and related settings;
• theme, update, and application-state preferences; and
• a randomly generated daily browser identifier used for first-party analytics.

The daily identifier is replaced after your device’s local date changes. Saved searches remain on your device until you delete them, clear browser storage, uninstall the application, or your browser removes the data. Seat Watcher does not receive the contents of your saved watch list as a stored server-side profile.

3. Information collected by Seat Watcher

When you use the service, Seat Watcher may record:

• movie, theatre, showtime, and search-type identifiers used to request availability;
• whether an availability request, search, shared match, hero preview, keep-watching option, browser-helper download, share option, or outbound Cineplex link was selected;
• the category of the action, such as Chrome or Firefox download, preview, buy, ticket, notification, X, Facebook, native sharing, or copy link;
• the destination hostname and path for outbound Cineplex clicks, without its query string;
• your device-local calendar date, the daily browser identifier, and the deployment environment that generated the event;
• technical request information processed by Cloudflare to deliver and protect the service, which may include an IP address, request headers, timing, and security signals; and
• your email address and message content if you voluntarily contact the operator for support, feedback, or a privacy request.

The product analytics stored by Seat Watcher do not include your name, email address, contact list, precise location, payment details, or the content you enter on third-party services. Seat Watcher treats the daily browser identifier as pseudonymous information even though it is short-lived and is not designed to identify you directly.

4. Purposes

Information is used only as reasonably necessary to:

• provide movie, showtime, ticket-release, and seat-availability checks;
• save your preferences locally and display notifications or results you request;
• measure aggregate search interest, feature usage, sharing, and outbound Cineplex clicks;
• diagnose failures, control abuse, secure the service, and manage infrastructure usage; and
• understand which features should be improved; and
• respond to support, feedback, legal, or privacy communications.

An outbound click is treated as a product conversion indicator. Seat Watcher does not receive confirmation that a ticket was purchased.

5. Analytics preference

You may disable Seat Watcher’s first-party product analytics in this browser. Disabling analytics removes the current daily browser identifier, does not delete your saved searches, and does not prevent Cloudflare from processing technical information required to deliver and secure requests.

6. Service providers and disclosures

Cloudflare provides hosting, network delivery, security, serverless functions, and Analytics Engine storage. Cloudflare processes information on the operator’s behalf and under its own applicable terms and privacy commitments.

Seat Watcher sends validated movie, theatre, showtime, and availability requests to Cineplex systems so that the requested information can be returned. If you follow a Cineplex link or use X, Facebook, or your device’s share menu, the destination service will process information under its own privacy policy.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to respond to lawful process, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or to protect legal rights. Seat Watcher does not sell or rent personal information.

7. Retention

Seat Watcher product analytics are retained in Cloudflare Analytics Engine for up to three months. Local browser data remains until removed as described in section 2. Support and privacy correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate records, and meet legal obligations. Security, billing, and operational records maintained by service providers may be retained under their applicable policies and legal obligations.

8. International processing

Cloudflare and third-party services may process information outside your province or outside Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement authorities, or regulators under that jurisdiction’s laws.

9. Safeguards

Seat Watcher limits the information it records, validates analytics submissions, uses encrypted HTTPS connections, rotates the browser identifier daily, and does not maintain user accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

10. Your choices and rights

You can delete saved searches within Seat Watcher and can remove all local data through your browser or application settings. You can also disable product analytics using the control above and can deny browser notification permission.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to or correction of personal information, withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions, or raise a concern about its handling. Because Seat Watcher does not maintain accounts and rotates pseudonymous identifiers daily, it may not be possible to associate an analytics event with you. Requests will be addressed as required by applicable law.

11. Children and policy changes

Seat Watcher is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. This Policy may be updated as the service changes. The effective date above will be revised when material updates are published.
